Thank goodness for freezies! Dr. Lopes got treated to some freezies after joining the Yonge St Running Room Half Marathon clinic on their training room. She was able to share some helpful information on do’s and don’ts when it comes to injury prevention.
It’s always a nice treat to speak to runners who are just starting out into the running world. Dr. Lopes got to join the Yonge St. Running Room Learn to Run & 5km clinics on their nightly run before speaking to them about things they can do to prevent injuries.
For the 5th year in a row, Dr. Lopes volunteered as a Sports Chiropractor & Sports First Responder at the 2016 Toronto Triathlon Festival. She provided care to both sprint and Olympic distance triathletes on site. (http://www.torontotriathlonfestival.com/)
Come and share in one of Dr. Lopes’ passions: latin dancing! This weekend July 9-10, 2016 there is a full weekend of live latin music (salsa, bachata, merengue, cha cha, Mexican folkloric music, samba), free dance lesson and dancing on St. Clair Ave. all day! (http://www.salsaintoronto.com/)
Dr. Lopes finished off her 5th level of classes in American Sign Language (ASL) at the Bob Rumball Foundation of the Deaf. It was an exciting feeling being able to actually be able to tell a story in ASL!
