Dr. Lopes acted as Conference Chair Person for the annual Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences Canada conference held in Toronto. Dr. Lopes volunteered her time with the Canadian Deaf Track & Field team during their training camp at York University in Toronto. She provided on-site care to the athletes and assessed their mobility to help prevent future injuries.
Dr. Lopes volunteered in August 2015 as a sports chiropractor. She assisted at York University for Athletics. She provided both sports first responder and chiropractic services to athletes as part of the host medical team for the Games. She assisted athletes with visual, physical and intellectual impairments.
