Dr. Lopes is heading to JAPAN to volunteer this NOVEMBER 2025!
If you’ve been wondering why Dr. Lopes started to learn Japanese earlier this year, it was in hopes that she got the opportunity to support Team Canada at the upcoming 2025 Summer Deaflympics Tokyo – and it is now confirmed!
Thank you to Canadian Deaf Sports Association for this upcoming opportunity!
Take note that Dr. Lopes will be away (Nov 12 – Dec 21] for the 2 week event and will add personal time to explore this area of the world for her very first time!The Deaflympics have been around since 1924 and occur every 4 years.This event brings together thousands of Deaf and hard of hearing athletes from around the world.Team Canada will comprise about 50 athletes and 9 different summer sports!
